Editor: We should write letters to our senators, Martha McSally and Kyrsten Sinema, and our Congressman, Paul Gosar, to pass a law that any athlete competing in our Olympics or the Pan Am Games, who kneels during the national anthem, be stripped of any medals because they are competing to representing us taxpayers and citizens to the rest of the world and it is our taxes who support them when they travel overseas, and they are disrespecting our nation by kneeling.
This is not a political game, it is a sport and politics should not be expressed in the games. A gold medal winner in the fencing sport kneeled during the anthem this past week, and he should forfeit his medals. We should send a message that if they are political, they will not be allowed to compete.
