Three Lake Havasu boys have qualified for the Southwest Junior PGA Championship in their respective age groups.

Daniel Dion and Cody Ayers both qualified for the tournament in the Boys 15-18 age bracket and Derek McCoy punched his ticket in the Boys 13-14 age group.

All three qualified with their scores in the local qualifier at El Rio Golf Club in Mohave Valley on Monday.

Dion shot a +5 (77) and Ayers was +10 (82). McCoy finished at +16 (88).

From the nine local qualifying tournaments, which were held throughout the state, 48 boys in the 15-18 age group qualified and 24 from the 13-14 age bracket.

This year’s Junior PGA Championship will be held from June 20-21 on the Padre Course of Camelback Golf Club in Scottsdale.

The winner of the tournament will earn a spot in the National Junior PGA Championship. This year’s tournament will begin on July 30 in Hartford, Connecticut.
