The Lake Havasu swim team recorded a win in Kingman on Thursday as it competed against Kingman, Kingman Academy and Lee Williams.

“I saw improvements in practice and it translated into results today,” said head coach Guilia Dickinson. “The first meet of the season is always so hard, but by the second meet, you start to get in the groove.”

The Knights won by sheer size on Thursday as there were several events where they were the only team competing, thus were the only team recording scores in those events.

“The team is trending in the right direction,” said Dickinson. “This week was a lot cooler and we were able to have better practices.”

Lake Havasu will return to Kingman on Saturday to compete in the Northwest Arizona Invitational. There will be six other teams in attendance and the event is scheduled to start at noon.

“I’m confident we will have qualifiers, but I think some kids will be surprised,” said Dickinson.
